Professor Ann Sanford

Professor Ann Sanford is the first female Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt in the state of Mississippi. She has been an active competitor in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since August of 2007 and won multiple state championships before becoming the first World Champion out of Mississippi in 2013. As one of the smallest fighters at American Top Team, Ann has learned to adopt technique over strength and use her flexibility and timing to submit opponents who are much larger than her. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with women wanting to learn self defense and can easily adapt the techniques for any skill level, age or body type.

Professor Ann loves to give back to the community by doing free self-defense seminars for the women of Keesler Air force Base. She also teaches the staff of local casinos about safety in parking garages, does school visits for nursing students and special private lessons for young ladies going off to college.
